As part of a math compacting project, the student was challenged to research the Greek Dust Board. He then had to create his own form of showing numbers to 10,000s. The students used Google Slides as his tool.
The students will create a pattern block design and take a photo of it in Seesaw. Then they will record on the photo what they made and what pattern blocks they used to make it. The students will demonstrate and then allow time for others to make their own and record in Seesaw.
We do a lot of problem solving in 1st grade. We have grown so much in just the first semester and are gr at problem solvers. Come and learn how to problem solve like a pro!
In our Problem Solving Block, students will lead others in a discuss of strategy to solve a multistep word problem. Students choose their own manipulatives and/or strategies.
The project is a 3 act problem solving presentation. The student has 4 bars that are broken into different denominator fractions. The audience will guess what he is doing. In act 2 the student will show that bars are divided into 1/4's and the audience will be responsible for showing how many bars he has in total.
